A few years ago,two students working together at an interactive white board, using simple hand gestures to figure out an animated physics lesson or scribbling through a complex algebraic equation, to the teacher in the room, might have seemed like something that would only happen in a movie with technology from the future that’s too cool to be real. But interactive whiteboards (IWBs) have entered the mainstream of education technology and have established themselves as extremely useful teaching tools. Teachers say that IWBs engage children’s imagination and encourage them to collaborate, while accommodating visual, kinesthetic, and even auditory learners.
